Senior Scientist / SolidTRON Products
John Waldron’s passion for electronics began when he was just 12 years old. During a college internship, his interests broadened to include the underlying physics of electronics, especially in the power semiconductor field.
John leverages his education in Physics and Electrical Engineering to design, simulate, and process cutting edge pulse power electronics used in a wide variety of applications. These designs are enabling the future of pulsed power by providing a feasible technical solution to the limitations imposed by tube-based discharge switches.John was recognized by the US Department of Defense for his contributions in the successful development of a crucial component in an abbreviated time span; and has several publications in the pulsed power field.
John earned a BS in Physics from the University at Albany, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with a thesis based on wide bandgap devices.
In his personal life, John enjoys riding his motorcycle and fishing trips with his daughter.
