About Silicon Power Corporation

Silicon Power Corporation was founded in 1994 by Dr. Harshad Mehta after acquiring GE’s high-power semiconductor manufacturing facility in Malvern, Pennsylvania, USA. Silicon Power is a globally recognized technology developer and solutions provider in the design, development, manufacturing and testing of high-power semiconductor devices and utility-applicable systems. As a vertically integrated company that spans the design and manufacturing of semiconductor switches through large industrial/utility power systems, Silicon Power’s portfolio of solutions increase the reliability and resilience of power networks — emPowering higher levels of performance and productivity.

Silicon Power’s capabilities include the design and manufacturing of leading-edge Si and SiC devices and modules from facilities in Bend, Oregon, USA (SiCamore Semi) and joint venture in Gujarat, India with Ruttonsha International Rectifier (Ruttonsha’s 50+ years of experience and technical collaboration make them a global landmark in Semiconductors); and large industrial/utility power systems through the Innova Power Solutions Group. Silicon Power’s world leading technologies include solid state high-speed, high voltage and high-energy transfer switches; with products and systems used in critical operations/facility applications including International Airport power grids and HVDC power networks.

With over 25 years of experience and industry firsts, including an R&D 100 Award (SGTO® semiconductor switch) and fielding the first Medium Voltage, sub-cycle transfer switch in 1995, Silicon Power is leading and accelerating technology commercialization.

Silicon Power is the Pioneer and Leader in Medium Voltage, sub-cycle switching technology and solutions. The Innova Power Solutions Group product portfolio is focused on increasing the resilience of electrical power networks for critical facilities and utilities, empowering higher levels of operational resilience and bottom-line performance. The Innova STS is a sub-cycle transfer switch that can switch between Medium Voltage feeds in a quarter-cycle. This solution has been deployed to solve sensitive load issues in various industries and utilities for over 25 years (e.g. semiconductor, airport, automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical, government and data/financial applications).

Silicon Power’s customers have included NIST, Novartis, Ford Motor Company and Applied Materials (AMAT); as well as utilities American Electric Power (AEP), Baltimore Gas & Electric (BG&E) and DTE Energy.
